On June 2, 2025, the 2025 NOAI China Finals were successfully held at Beijing New Talent School. More than 160 contestants from across the country participated in the Finals, and 8 official team members of this year’s national team were successfully selected. They will represent China in IOAI 2025 to be held at Beijing National Day School in August. The competition achieved many groundbreaking results:
1. Fully aligned with IOAI 2025: From the platform to the competition format, this event was completely synchronized with the IOAI 2025 Global Finals in August, serving as an official rehearsal for the international competition. It was the world’s first large-scale, high-concurrency AI competition for middle school students featuring “live training + testing”. Students were required to complete 4 challenging AI problems within 6 hours.
2. Embracing AI-driven problem-solving: Participants were encouraged to use problem-solving paradigms for the AI era, with unrestricted access to a ChatGPT 4o-level large language model.
3. Advanced technical infrastructure: The technical team built the competition environment on DP Tech’s Bohrium platform. Supported by Volcano Engine, each contestant was allocated exclusive cloud computing resources. A total of 380 L4-level computing cards were deployed across the cluster.
4. Real-time evaluation system: The event adopted an AB leaderboard evaluation model, with fully automated grading servers hosted in the cloud. Participants could view their scores in real time, and the final leaderboard was released within one hour after the competition ended. The grading system handled a peak concurrency of 220 requests, with a maximum waiting queue of 180 and a peak waiting time of 10 minutes.
5. Technical resilience and experience: Despite multiple pre-planned technical safeguards, the team encountered issues caused by students deviating from the operation manual, leading to frequent node startups that impacted servers. The technical team resolved these problems in a timely manner, accumulating invaluable experience for guaranteeing the international competition.
6. Q&A support: In the real-time discussion bulletin board, students submitted 213 questions, all of which were answered promptly.
Thanks to Beijing New Talent School, the DP Tech team, the Volcano Engine team, and the NOAI Scientific Committee for their contributions and organization. We are looking forward to hosting contestants from across the world this summer in IOAI 2025.
