NOAI 2025: A Milestone in Nurturing Singapore’s AI Talent
The National Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence (NOAI) 2025 marked a significant milestone in Singapore’s mission to cultivate a new generation of AI leaders. Organised by AI Singapore in partnership with Nanyang Technological University (NTU), and supported by the Ministry of Education (MOE) and the Ministry of Digital Development and Information (MDDI), this inaugural national-level competition underscored the nation’s growing commitment to developing future-ready talent in artificial intelligence.
Inspiring Participation Across the Nation
Between November 2024 and January 2025, students from secondary schools to polytechnics across the island answered the call to be part of this pioneering initiative. The overwhelming response underscored the enthusiasm and readiness of Singapore’s youth to embrace the challenges and possibilities of artificial intelligence.
Challenge Day – 8 March 2025
On competition day, more than 100 of Singapore’s brightest young minds convened at NTU’s College of Computing and Data Science. Over a rigorous 2.5-hour session, participants showcased their understanding through both theoretical and practical challenges—ranging from machine learning and deep learning to computer vision, generative AI, and natural language processing. Their passion, creativity, and technical prowess were evident in the competition hall.

Celebrating Achievements – 30 April 2025
The Awards Ceremony was a proud moment—not just for the winners, but for all who dared to challenge themselves and expand the boundaries of their knowledge. The event celebrated resilience, curiosity, and the pursuit of excellence. The top 60 performers earned the opportunity to enter the intensive training and selection program—embarking on the next leg of their journey toward representing Singapore at the International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence (IOAI) 2025 in Beijing.
