The Election Committee is pleased to announce the opening of nominations for the election of one (1) elected member of the IOAI International Board.

The elected candidate will serve a three-year term beginning at the conclusion of the General Assembly held during IOAI 2026 in Astana, Kazakhstan.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the IOAI Board, candidates must:

• Be at least 18 years old.
• Be affiliated with an IOAI-accredited country/territory organization or an IOAI partner organization.
• Fill out the provided nomination form by the stated deadline.
• Have prior involvement in Olympiads or relevant fields such as education, artificial intelligence, nonprofit work, governance, community building, or international cooperation.
• Possess strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Commit to actively contributing to Board responsibilities.
• Be willing to serve a three-year term, participate in Board meetings, and work in an international environment.
• Disclose any actual or potential conflicts of interest.

I. Nomination Phase

Deadline: 28 June 2026
Nominations are accepted via Google Form only.

Any member of the IOAI Community may nominate a candidate, including self-nominations. However, a nomination will only be considered valid once the nominee personally fills out and submits the nomination form, which serves as a formal confirmation of their willingness to serve on the IOAI Board.

II. Candidate Review Phase

The Election Committee may organize short interviews with candidates in order to clarify information provided in the nomination form, discuss motivations, and answer questions regarding Board responsibilities.

Candidate Presentation Format

All candidates are required to submit a written profile as part of their nomination.

Additionally, candidates may choose one of the following presentation options:

• A short video presentation (up to 3 minutes), submitted before the election; or
• A short in-person presentation during the General Assembly.

Communication to General Assembly Members

The final list of candidates, together with candidate profiles and voting information, will be distributed to General Assembly members before the election in accordance with the IOAI Regulations.

III. Voting Process

The election will be conducted in accordance with the IOAI Regulations.

Each General Assembly member may vote for one candidate.

The candidate receiving the highest number of votes will be elected to the vacant Board position.

In the event of a tie, the tie-breaking procedures defined in the IOAI Regulations will apply.

Responsibilities of the Election Committee

The Election Committee is responsible for ensuring a fair, transparent, and structured election process. Its responsibilities include:

• Publicizing the nomination process and timeline;
• Reviewing nominations and verifying eligibility;
• Conducting candidate interviews when needed;
• Supporting candidate presentations;
• Facilitating the voting process;
• Maintaining election records; and
• Reporting election results to the Board and General Assembly.

The Election Committee does not select or rank candidates. All verified nominees proceed equally to the General Assembly vote.
