We are proud to announce that the first-ever Central European Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence will be hosted by Universitatea Babeș-Bolyai in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, from July 14 to 19, 2026. This edition is organized together with the Romanian Ministry of Education and Nitro Association.

The event will bring together top high-school students from across Europe to compete in advanced artificial intelligence challenges aligned with the International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence standards. Over an entire week, participants will engage with complex artificial intelligence challenges, blending theoretical knowledge with practical, real-world applications. 

The competition follows the IOAI structure, with 2 days of practical challenges on the official CEOAI platform: https://judge.nitro-ai.org/ . All accredited countries can create their own competitions on the host platform to prepare their students or organize national selections. 

9 countries have already been accredited. For the host nation, the selection process for the Romanian team participating in the CEOAI will be conducted via the national “ROAI” selection: olimpiada.nitro-ai.org.

We allow both on-site and unofficial online participation, as well as guest participation for non-european countries. The event is a great opportunity for those in Europe to compete in another international event and for others to prepare for the following IOAI!
