We would like to thank everyone who joined our recent IOAI Community Meeting on May 20, 2026. It was a pleasure to connect once again with members of our growing international AI education community and to share important updates regarding IOAI 2026 and the broader IOAI ecosystem.
A Growing Global Community
IOAI continues its rapid global expansion.
We are proud to announce that IOAI has now reached:
- 130 accredited countries and territories out of 193 UN member states
- 95 already registered countries and territories for IOAI 2026
- 40 countries and territories receiving Financial Aid support
With participation continuing to grow across all regions, IOAI is on track to become one of the world’s largest International Science Olympiads.
Late registration for IOAI 2026 remains open until 31 May 2026.
Financial Aid Expansion
One of the key highlights of the meeting was the final overview of the IOAI 2026 Financial Aid program.
This year:
- 43 Financial Aid applications were received
- 40 countries and territories were approved for support
- The number of supported delegations has more than doubled compared to 2025
The program continues to play a major role in ensuring broader global access to AI education and participation in IOAI.
IOAI Ecosystem
The meeting also included updates regarding the growing IOAI ecosystem and the development of Regional and Subregional Olympiads.
Regional Olympiads include:
- Africa Olympiad in AI (AOAI)
- Asia Pacific Olympiad in AI (APOAI)
- European Olympiad in AI (EOAI)
- Americas Olympiad in AI (currently in development)
We also shared updates regarding several subregional initiatives, including:
- USA–North America AI Olympiad (USAAIO)
- Northern Eurasia Competition in AI (NEOAI)
- North Africa Olympiad in AI
The first edition of the European Olympiad in AI (EOAI) will take place in Serbia in 2027.

IOAI 2027 Singapore
We are happy to officially announce the dates for IOAI 2027 in Singapore: 📅 4–10 July 2027
Further details will be shared in the coming months.
IOAI 2026 Kazakhstan Updates
Preparations for IOAI 2026 in Kazakhstan are progressing actively.
Key updates shared during the meeting included:
- Visa support and logistics coordination: visa2026@ioai-official.org
- Flexible early arrival / late checkout options (subject to host confirmation)
- New opening ceremony venue: QazExpo Congress Center
- Continued preparation of contest venues, accommodation, and delegation support
Educational Resources and Contest Preparation
The IOAI International Scientific Committee (ISC) shared updates regarding the growing IOAI Task Repository and educational resources.
Currently, 18 countries, territories, and Regional Olympiads have already contributed national or regional task repositories.
The meeting also included presentations regarding:
- IOAI 2026 contest format
- Individual Contest and GAITE Contest
- Team Challenge
- Contest platforms
- Contest rules
- Updated IOAI 2026 syllabus
The updated syllabus introduces broader and more multimodal AI topics, including transformers, embeddings, audio models, diffusion models, and multimodal AI systems.
