The USA–North America AI Olympiad is organized by the USA AI Olympiad (USAAIO, www.usaaio.org). It is primarily intended for students in the U.S. but extends its reach to all of North America. Round 1 was held on March 24. USAAIO invited the top scorers from Round 1 to participate in Round 2, which took place on April 27 at MIT.
In Round 2, USAAIO not only conducted its AI contest but also hosted:
- An information session by MIT Admissions staff
- A panel discussion with MIT researchers whose expertise is in AI
- A talk by members of Team USA for the 2024 IOAI, who shared their experiences
USAAIO published the award list on its website (www.usaaio.org). From Round 2, the top 12 students were selected to advance to Round 3, known as the USAAIO Camp. These students will participate in intensive team selection tests in June. Afterward, USAAIO will select 8 students to represent the U.S. at the 2025 IOAI.
