China, a nation pulsating with enthusiasm for artificial intelligence and boasting a formidable educational foundation, is set to proudly host the 2nd edition of the International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence (IOAI). At the vanguard of AI advancement, China has consistently demonstrated its commitment to the field with a string of notable achievements in research and practical applications.

From August 2nd to August 9th, 2025, Beijing will become a gathering place for the most promising young minds in AI.Ā We invite you to join this academic celebration, where the worldā€™s brightest high school students will compete, collaborate, and herald the future of artificial intelligence.

FAQ

I. Catering

Meals are served in buffet style (boxed meals will be provided during competitions and outings). Team leaders can inform participantsā€™ special dietary needs in the Excel registration form (roster). Meals can be taken by presenting the badge, no additional meal tickets are required.

Pure vegetarian meals will be provided, subject to actual demand.

Bottled water will be provided during competitions. There are multiple direct drinking water facilities in the teaching building, and a water bottle will be included in the international competition welcome package to meet more drinking needs.

For safety reasons, participants are not allowed to order takeout food.

II. Accommodation

  • Student accommodation: Beijing National Day School (No. 66 Yuquan Lu, Haidian District, Beijing)
  • Adult accommodation: Beijing Wanshou Hotelļ¼ˆAddress: No. 12A, Wanshou Road, Haidian District, Beijing Ā ļ¼‰

Participants are generally arranged in double rooms. Single rooms are only available for adult team leaders (additional fees for single rooms apply).

  • Student rooms: Air conditioning, independent bathroom, bedding (see ā€œLiving Suppliesā€), laundry room, Wi-Fi, and multiple public study spaces.
  • Adult hotel: Air conditioning, independent bathroom, bedding, Wi-Fi. Laundry service requires extra payment.
  • Student rooms:
    • Logistics package includes: mattress, bed sheet, summer quilt, pillow core, pillow towel, pillowcase, quilt cover, mosquito net, towel, bath towel, toothbrush, toothpaste, tooth cup, toiletries bag, shampoo, shower gel, soap, laundry soap (students need to bring other personal toiletries and slippers).
    • Each floor has a hair dryer room and fully automatic washing machines.
  • Adult hotel: Provides bedding, basic toiletries, towels, disposable slippers, hair dryer (laundry requires extra payment).

The event is closed to the public. Except for parents registered as observers, other parents cannot stay with participants. If parents accompany participants to China, they can book nearby hotels by themselves.

III. Transportation & pick-up/delivery

Vehicles enter and exit from the west gate, and the inner square of the west gate is the parking area. The specific plan will be formulated by the Security Office.

  • Airport pick-up time:
    1. August 2: 6:00-23:00
    2. August 3: 6:00-23:00
  • Airport drop-off time: August 9: 6:00-23:00

Note: Pick-up and drop-off services are only provided on the above dates. If there are many teams arriving or departing during non-specified time periods (e.g., 3:00 on August 2), separate arrangements will be made according to actual situations and synchronized with Beijing National Day School in a timely manner.

IV. Parent & visitor policy

The event is a closed competition, and parents are not allowed to enter the campus. No special visitor registration process is available.

Currently, no activities or information sessions are planned for accompanying parents. Parents are advised to confirm with the organizer in advance.

IV. Safety & communication

During non-competition time, designated staff or volunteers will provide support and supervision for students.

There is a medical room on the first floor of the apartment to handle emergencies or general health problems.

Students can use mobile networks and Wi-Fi to contact their families.

Foreigners in China can use eSIM cards from certain operators or international travel eSIM services. Here are some options:

  • China Unicom CUBe Card: Launched by China Unicom in partnership with Bank of China and Beijing Yikatong for foreign tourists. With a passport, you can get this ā€œcommunication + payment + transportationā€ all ā€“ in ā€“ one card. It offers calls, internet, digital RMB payments, and public transport payment via ā€œBEIJING PASSā€.
