IOAI MISSION
IOAI's mission is to inspire and engage young people in science, with a focus on AI. We aim to provide a platform for the world’s top AI students, selected through fair national competitions, to compete, exchange ideas, and build connections. Our goal is to foster a global dialogue on AI’s opportunities and ethical challenges, involving both students and the broader community.
IOAI VISION
IOAI's vision is to quickly become an International Science Olympiad on par with the established ones in terms of number of participating countries / territories and level of tasks. We aim to collaborate with global organizations and leading experts in AI to build a network of future innovators who will shape the collaboration between people and AI for the good of humankind and our planet. We will work to make IOAI financially accessible for all participants, ensuring inclusivity and global reach.
IOAI GAITE
In sync with our goal to promote STEM and AI among students globally, foster inclusivity, and expand the IOAI community.we are announcing the IOAI Global AI Talent Empowerment (GAITE) initiative. IOIA GAITE is designed to assist countries and territories with limited International Science Olympiads (ISO) history as they work towards joining the IOAI community on an equal footing.

IOAI HISTORY
The 1st edition of IOAI took place in Burgas, Bulgaria August 9-15, 2024. 41 teams from 32 countries and territories from 6 continents took part in the competition's 2 rounds: Scientific Round and Practical Round, with a focus on Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, and Computer Vision.
IOAI GOVERNANCE
IOAI is governed by an international Board. An International Scientific Committee is responsible for the scientific oversight, development, and coordination of the competition’s content, ensuring that it meets high academic standards and aligns with the latest advancements in the AI field.
What is a science olympiad
The International Science Olympiads are a group of worldwide annual competitions in various areas of the formal sciences, natural sciences, and social sciences. The competitions are designed for the 4-6 best high school students from each participating country.
Some of the most famous ISOs include the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) and the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI). The aims of each ISO are to promote a career in science and to challenge the brightest students from around the world.
The International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence (IOAI) is an International Science Olympiad in the field of artificial intelligence (AI).
