Process
Countries or territories interested in participating for the first time must secure accreditation through a Country representative (organization or body responsible for the national selection of teams). Non-accredited countries may also be allowed to participate as long as they commit to securing accreditation within 2 years. You can find the Accreditation form and list of accredited country representatives below:
Each accredited country or territory is entitled to send either one or two teams consisting of four contestants and a team leader. Find out more about the team selection process below:
All countries and territories, both accredited and non-accredited, wishing to participate in the 1st edition of the IOAI must fill out the Registration form:
Fees
Early bird registration
15 Jan – 29 Feb 2024
First team – 1500 EUR
Second team – 2700 EUR
First 10 teams to register* – 700 EUR
Observer – 550 EUR
A down payment of at least 30% of the fee is required by 15 March; failure to do so will result in the forfeiture of early bird registration rates and the application of standard fees. Full payment of the fees must be made by 31 May 2024.
Standard registration
1 Mar – 31 May 2024
First team – 1800 EUR
Second team – 3000 EUR
Sponsored teams** – 700 EUR
Observer – 700 EUR
A down payment of at least 30% of the fee is required within 2 weeks of the registration. Full payment of the fees must be made by 31 May 2024.
Late registration
31 May - 10 July 2024
First team – 2100 EUR
Second team – 3200 EUR
Observer – 900 EUR
Single room supplement – 500 EUR
Full payment is required within 2 weeks of the registration.
The fees include the following for a team of five persons (4 contestants and a team leader):
- Transfers for arrival (9 August) and departure (15 August) from/to Burgas International Airport (BOJ), Burgas Railway Station, or Burgas Bus Station
- Accommodations in double or triple rooms for 6 nights
- Full board from dinner on 9 August till breakfast on 15 August
- Participation in the contests during the IOAI
- Access to the online course in June 2024
- Participation in all IOAI social and cultural events
The fees do not include:
- Travel expenses from/to the participants home country to Burgas, Bulgaria
- Additional days and meals outside the IOAI schedule
- Visa application charges
- Travel or health insurance
- Supplement for single room accommodation – 400 EUR surcharge per person
*The Bulgarian Ministry of Education will subsidize 10 international teams. This support will be given on a first-come, first-served basis to the first 10 countries that pay the deposit. This subsidy applies whether the registration is early bird or standard, as indicated above.
**To broaden access to the IOAI, the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) will collaborate with various universities and sponsors to secure additional funding. Should these partnerships materialize, the resources will be utilized to decrease the registration fees for teams registering after the initial 10.
